DR. LAURA WATTERSON
CHIROPRACTIC PHYSICIAN
Dr. Laura Watterson, the owner of Charlotte Sports Performance and Rehab, has a passion for helping athletes. She specializes in treatment and prevention of athletic injuries and sports performance optimization. Utilizing numerous cutting edge rehab techniques and her diverse skill set, Dr. Watterson treats athletes of all levels from amateur to professional. Unlike traditional sports rehab which focuses on the specific area of pain, she focuses on identifying the root cause of the injury by looking at the body as a whole, rather than just on the injury site.
Since founding Charlotte Sports Performance and Rehab in 2014, Dr. Watterson has worked with professional athletes from the NFL, NASCAR, AHL, MLL and PGA. She has worked with and treated professional athletes during season and off season, guiding them through athlete specific strength and mobility classes to complement their current training goals and programs. She specializes in repairing acute and chronic soft-tissue injuries minimizing games and training missed for professional and amateur athletes. Her approach allows athletes to maximize their training efforts. To reduce the likelihood of future injury she addresses current complaints while working to establish proper movement patterns. Dr. Watterson listens to the challenges faced by her athletes, works with coaches and trainers, learns about their particular routine and goals, and is determined to address each athlete’s specific needs during a particular training period.
Dr. Watterson also consults health and fitness instructors and strength coaches to help them deliver safe and effective exercises and programs, so that their athletes can optimize training and results while avoiding injury. Dr. Watterson’s track record of success with professional/elite athletes has helped her establish numerous relationships and partnerships with coaches, trainers, and therapists to successfully co-manage athlete therapy – benefiting all parties, and most importantly helping the athlete remain healthy and focused.
